The entire world is superbly built on imagination. Everything you see as you look around you was once in someone’s imagination or dreams.
What if:
1. Martin Luther King did not have a dream?
2. The founders of our country did not have a vision of what we could become as a nation?
3. Sam Walton did not envision Wal-Mart?
4. Rich DeVos and Jay VanAndle did not dare to dream bigger than their West Michigan roots.
5. Bill Gates did not dare to sell DOS before he even owned it?
6. Steve Jobs did not dare to start Apple Computer Company?
7. Michael Dell did not dare, as he sat in his college dorm room to start a company.
8. Or if George Washington Carver did not have the audacity to help Southern Farmers by taking peanuts, soybeans, pecans and sweet potatoes - and invent adhesives, axle grease, bleach, buttermilk, chili sauce, fuel briquettes (a biofuel), ink, instant coffee, linoleum, mayonnaise, meat tenderizer, metal polish, paper, plastic, pavement, shaving cream, shoe polish, synthetic rubber, talcum powder and wood stain.

   • They all took a path that everyone around them said wasn’t a real path.

   • They all dared to put their visions and dreams on the line to be criticized.

   • They all believe that innovation is the “patterns and pieces” that no one else had ever put together before.

   • They all believed that the wisdom of the process was rooted purely in the beginning of it.

   • They all believed that without the first step, the second step could not be taken and without the second step, the third step would never be reached.

   • They all believed that the results they were to produce would not be manifest and become clear until and unless total commitment to their dreams, visions and desires were set in their hearts and minds onto the path and then boldly take that first step onto the path.

   • They all took the path of impossibility, the path of outrageousness, the path of being critiqued by their friends, family and peers. The path everyone around them said would be impossible and was just a figment of their imagination.

But here, within that imagination they found the seeds of greatness.
Of hope beyond current comprehension because someone like John F. Kennedy had the audacious vision to land a man on the Moon and set the then impossible goal of doing it in 10 years.

Because Edison had the courage to fail 10,000 time as he found all the wrong ways to invent a light bulb and then stumbled onto the one right way.

Edison actually looked for the naysayer as he developed his ideas and took the most criticized ideas to success.

Because Alexander Graham Bell needed to find a way to help his deaf sister to be able to hear and he stumbled onto the telephone.

And when they dared to dream, when they dared to take that first step, and to finally achieve, they could then look back in wonder of how the vision manifested itself into what they held today. And they knew the pain, the setbacks and they were grateful to have taken that first fateful step toward their dream.

Isn’t it time you took that first step toward your dream?
The world is waiting to see your product, artwork, service, invention or song or story.

The path is before you, get your shoes dirty as you jump into the muddy waters where the gold is hidden and no one else dares to go.
