The Holy Grail |

Said to be the Christian chalice that holds magic powers. The search for the grail has been on for thousands of years. Not unlike the “Lucky” rabbits foot or the “Lucky” horseshoe. Trinkets and things holding magic powers have enticed us for eternity. The “luck” or “power” is truly there. But not in the Grail or medallion or trinket we think it is. The real “Grail” is in our minds. Consider how "lucky" the rabbit who gave up his foot was. The power to create something from just a thought is real and it happens every day. The power to take a problem (big or small) and turn it into an opportunity lies within our minds, not in a trinket. If our minds make over 8 billion calculations subconsciously per second just to keep us from falling over, the processor in our heads can make many more calculations that can create products that solve today’s problems, cures for diseases, and take our physical and unlimited talents to Gold Medals against all odds. After his teachers told Michael Phelps’ mother that little Michael would never be able to focus on anything productive, Michael was diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). Instead of dwelling on the negatives (or the problem) Michael’s mother helped him to dwell on the gifts the diagnosis brought him. Michael’s mother saw her child as an intelligent, energetic, loving and sensitive child. She noticed that Michael, who was teased for having short legs and long arms, might have a body of a swimmer and encouraged him to take lessons at the pool. This funny looking body grew into the body built for speed in the water. ADD brought High energy, Creativity, Passion, Sensitivity and a mind that never forgets. Michael used this memory of being bullied as a kid to motivate himself. Michael used this energy to work harder than his future opponents. The result was 8 Gold medals in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Michael has earned 14 Gold medals in his career as of 2008 all because his gift of ADD was seen as a positive and not a negative. He went “toward” his dream instead of “away” from the ADD diagnosis. Our minds have helped people lift cars off people in a crisis. Our minds have created solutions because the imminent need or emergency was there. It isn’t the lucky coin in the pocket. It is the thought of the lucky coin in the pocket, coupled with “action” that helps produce the mind’s miracles. Einstein said “Nothing happens until something moves!” It is action after the thought or solution has come to mind that creates the solution. We all have great ideas that we never put to paper because “we can do that later”. Remember Einstein's words when he said "nothing happens in our universe until something or someone takes action". A push, a commitment to education, the registering and starting of a business. The taking of an idea from paper to a prototype and then to a product. So many people after seeing a new product say, “I thought of that!” That was my idea but I did not take action before someone else did. Jack Canfield says that every time you have a great idea, several other people have the same or variation of the same idea. The difference is that “they” took “ACTION” and you did not. When you have an idea, write it down and act on it. When you wake up in the middle of the night with an idea or song or thought, get up and work on it. Consider the loss of sleep small compared to gift that you have been given. Get up and take action and you will turn that idea into gold.
